Is My Child Eligible?
If your child meets the following criteria, then they are eligible for the CDBS:

0 to 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year

eligible for Medicare
-
getting a payment from the government at least once a year, or have a parent, carer or guardian getting a payment from the government at least once a year.

​​Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a Medicare scheme designed to cover the cost of dental treatment for eligible children. If your child is eligible, $1,095 is issued over 2 calendar years for basic dental services. The services that are covered include any of the following:

When Should I Take My Child To The Dentist?​
Your child’s first visit to our practice should occur before the age of two. While this may seem early, baby teeth are extremely important because they: 1) act as placeholders for permanent teeth, 2) support jaw development, 3) facilitate eating, and 4) aid in speech. We also strongly believe that by visiting us early, children can form both positive associations and relations with the dentist.

During The Visit, We Will:​

Initial Visit: Greet and welcome your child. We ensure that we take the time to establish a trusting and meaningful relationship with your child. We explain treatment rendered in a way your child can easily understand.

History Review: Discuss your child’s medical and dental history with your child, you (the parent) or a guardian.

Examination: Checking the teeth, gums, and mouth for any issues. We also check the bite and alignment of your child's teeth.

Cleaning: Scale your child's teeth with either hand activated or powered instruments. We also polish your child's teeth by using a small, child-friendly brush and a mild grit toothpaste.

Advice: Provide educational advice on oral hygiene that your child easily understands and scheduling the next visit (if required).
